World Faiths – False Spiritual Leaders and Practices

Dost thou not know of those who pretend that they believe in what has been revealed to thee and what has been revealed before thee? They desire to seek judgment from the rebellious, although they were commanded not to obey them. And Satan desires to lead them far astray.

 Islam, the Holy Qur’an, 4:61

There will come a time when nothing would be left of Islam except its name, and nothing would be left of the Holy Qur’an except its text. Mosques, though full of worshippers, will be empty of guidance. The religious scholars will be the worst creation under the canopy of heaven.

Islam, Saying of the Holy Prophet (sa), Mishkat al-Masabih, Hadith 276

At the present time, people have fallen prey to serious error in relation to what constitutes a practice of the Holy Prophet (sa) and the reality of an innovation in the faith. They suffer from a grave misconception and cannot differentiate between the sunnah and an innovation in the faith. They have abandoned the exemplary model of the Holy Prophet (sa) and have invented many practices of their own accord considering them to be an ample form of guidance for their lives, even though these practices are leading them astray.

Islam, the Promised Messiah (as), Malfuzat – Volume III, p. 397

Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.

 Judaism, The Torah, Leviticus 19:31

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Christianity, The Bible, 1 John 4:1

Men of ignorance worship spirits and ghosts.

Hinduism, Bhagavad Gita 17.4

My follower does not study the practice of magic and spells. He does not analyse dreams and signs in sleep and movements in the Zodiac.

Buddhism. Sutta Nipata 927

Cursed be occult and miracle-making powers.

Sikhism, Var Sorath 20, M.3, p. 650
