‘Like Something the Most Loving Father Would Do…’

During the seven year course at Jamia Ahmadiyya – the Ahmadiyya Institute for Languages and Theology – future Imams of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community develop a strong, and unique bond with the Caliph, and Head of the Worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. As Imams, they will be representatives of the Caliph wherever they go, tasked with conveying the true message of Islam. Thus, the Caliph keeps them especially close, in order to personally teach and nurture them to become the best possible ambassadors for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.

Upon their graduation, the Review of Religions asks these Imams to share an inspiring incident or experience which they had with the Caliph over the span of their seven year studies. The following is one such incident:

Imam Zulfikar Raja, Class of 2017

During one of the Mulaqats(private audience) I had with Khalifatul Masih (aba) (the Caliph) in the course of Jamia, I requested him to bless me by putting his hand over my head. Huzoor (aba) (His Holiness) very graciously accepted my request and very lovingly put his hand at the back of my head and kept it there for a few seconds.

The feeling I had at that moment was indescribable. It was like something the most loving father would very caringly do for his son. I felt at peace at that moment and even till now whenever I think about it I am very happy that I had the opportunity to get Huzoor’s (aba) blessings.

When I mentioned this in Africa or Pakistan, people who I personally met were in tears telling me that their dream is only to just see their beloved Khalifatul Masih (aba) once with their own eyes. I was not just able to meet that person myself many times during my Jamia course, but in fact that very person blessed me with his very special love.
